New Home Electrical Wiring Redding, CA

Addy Solar & Electric provides new home electrical wiring in Redding, CA for developers, builders, and general contractors. We wire single-family homes and multi-lot developments from the ground up, pre-wired for solar, battery, and EV charging.

Electrical Wiring For New Residential Construction

We work directly with developers, general contractors, and engineers to deliver complete electrical systems for new home builds. Whether it is a single custom home or a multi-lot tract development, our team integrates into your construction schedule and handles the full electrical scope from rough-in through final inspection.

Every system we wire is built to current NEC and California Title 24 standards, including solar-ready requirements. We go beyond minimum code by pre-wiring for solar inverters, battery storage, and EV charger circuits so the homes you build are ready for the energy systems buyers are asking for.

  • Full electrical scope from panel installation through trim and finish
  • Pre-wired for solar, battery backup, and EV charger installation
  • Single-home, multi-home, and large tract development capacity
  • Direct coordination with GCs, developers, and project engineers
  • Code-compliant to current NEC and California Title 24 standards

Electrical Standards & Code Requirements for New Builds

California has some of the most demanding electrical and energy codes in the country. New residential construction must meet multiple overlapping standards, and non-compliance means failed inspections, project delays, and costly rework. Here is what applies to every new home build.

California Title 24 Energy Standards

Title 24 Part 6 sets energy efficiency requirements for all new residential buildings in California. For electrical, this includes mandatory solar-ready infrastructure, minimum conduit and panel space reserved for future photovoltaic systems, and energy-efficient lighting requirements.

The 2022 code cycle also introduced requirements for electric-ready infrastructure in new homes, covering EV charging, heat pump water heaters, and induction cooking circuits.

California adopts the NEC with state-specific amendments. The current cycle includes updated requirements for arc-fault circuit interrupter (AFCI) protection, ground-fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) coverage in additional locations, tamper-resistant receptacles, and panel labeling.

Every circuit, outlet, and fixture in a new home must meet these requirements to pass inspection.

New homes in California must include solar-ready infrastructure, which means reserved panel space, conduit pathways, and roof area for future solar installation.

Separately, new builds must also include EV-ready wiring with at least one 240-volt outlet or dedicated circuit in the garage. These are not optional upgrades. They are code requirements that must be in place before final inspection.

On top of state code, local jurisdictions can adopt additional amendments. Shasta County and surrounding areas have their own inspection processes and scheduling requirements.

We are familiar with the local inspectors and their expectations, which helps us avoid surprises at final walkthrough and get your projects signed off without delays.

What Goes Into Wiring a New Home

Electrical wiring is one of the most critical and least visible systems in a new build. Getting it right during construction prevents costly change orders, failed inspections, and expensive retrofits after the walls are closed. Here is what the scope covers.

Panel Sizing & Load Planning

Most new homes need a 200-amp panel at minimum. Homes with all-electric appliances, solar, battery storage, or EV charging may need a 400-amp panel or a secondary sub-panel.

We calculate total expected load based on the floor plan, appliance schedule, and any future energy systems so the panel is sized correctly from day one.

Every HVAC system, water heater, range, dryer, garage door opener, and future EV charger needs its own dedicated circuit.

We plan the full circuit map during pre-construction so nothing is missed during rough-in. This avoids change orders mid-build and keeps your project on budget.

We go beyond the Title 24 minimum by pre-wiring for solar inverters, battery connections, and EV charger circuits.

When the homeowner is ready to add those systems, the installation is fast, clean, and affordable because the infrastructure is already in place. Pre-wiring during construction costs a fraction of retrofitting after the walls are closed.

Electrical work intersects with framing, plumbing, HVAC, insulation, and drywall. Miscommunication between trades causes delays and rework.

We coordinate directly with your GC and other subs to make sure our work is sequenced correctly and does not conflict with anyone else on site.

How We Work With Your Build Team

01

Pre-Construction Planning

We review blueprints with your GC or project engineer and develop a complete electrical plan. Panel location, circuit layout, outlet and fixture placement, and all pre-wiring specs are locked in before framing starts.

02

Rough-In

Once framing is complete, we run all wiring through walls, ceilings, and floors. We install the main panel, junction boxes, and all conduit for solar and EV pre-wiring. Everything is in place before insulation and drywall go in.

03

Trim & Finish

After drywall, we install all outlets, switches, fixtures, and cover plates. We connect the panel, label every circuit, and prepare the system for final inspection.

03

Inspection & Handoff

We schedule the final electrical inspection, handle any corrections on the spot, and energize the system once approved. On multi-home projects, we roll this process across units to keep the overall build timeline moving.

Why Choose Us As Your Electrical Partner for New Construction

We have been wiring new homes and installing solar systems in Northern California since 2012. Our team understands construction timelines, builder expectations, and the coordination it takes to keep a project moving.

Electrical & Solar Under One License

We hold both C10 Electrical and C46 Solar classifications. That means the same team that wires your homes can also install solar, battery, and EV systems as an add-on package for buyers. One contractor, one relationship, one point of accountability.

Multi-Home Project Capacity

We have the crew depth to take on multi-lot developments and deliver consistent quality across every unit. Whether you are building 5 homes or 50, we maintain the same standards and the same team continuity throughout the project.

let you start saving from day one with no upfront cost.

Long-Term Partnership Approach

We are not chasing one-off jobs. We build relationships with developers and GCs who need a dependable electrical sub they can count on project after project. Our goal is to be your go-to electrical partner for every build.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you handle multi-home and tract development projects?

Yes. We have the crew and capacity to wire multiple homes on the same project.

We maintain consistent quality and scheduling across every unit, and we coordinate directly with your GC or project superintendent to keep the build on track.

If you are planning a multi-lot development, request more info and we will put together a scope and timeline.

Yes. We go beyond the Title 24 minimum by pre-wiring for solar inverters, battery storage connections, and EV charger circuits during rough-in.

This makes future installations fast and affordable for the homeowner, and it adds a selling point for your homes.

We can also install complete solar and battery systems as part of the build if buyers want them included at closing.

Most new homes need at least a 200-amp panel. Homes with solar, battery, EV charging, or all-electric appliances may need 400-amp service or a sub-panel.

We calculate the total expected load based on the floor plan and appliance schedule and recommend the right panel size for each home.

On tract developments, we can standardize panel specs across models to simplify procurement and installation.

We schedule rough-in, trim, and final phases around your construction timeline and coordinate directly with your project manager or superintendent.

If the schedule shifts, we adjust. Our goal is to never hold up another trade or delay your project.

We are used to working alongside other subs on active construction sites and managing our scope without creating conflicts.

Yes. We review and execute electrical plans developed by your project engineer, and we can also develop the electrical layout from blueprints if engineering plans are not yet in place.

We flag any code issues or practical concerns early so they are resolved before construction starts.

For larger developments, we coordinate with your engineering team to standardize electrical specs across units for efficiency and consistency.
